3 Months

How is our little baby already 3 months?! The past month with him has only gotten better.  He is growing so quickly, and learning a ton. He is so much fun!

He weighed in at 16lbs 12oz this month! And is 25 3/4 inches long! He is still in the 90th percentile for both his height/weight--Healthy kiddo!

Brayden is quite the communicator.  He LOVES to talk to mommy and daddy about everything.  There is so much emotion in his voice and in his face when he talks I can't help but laugh sometimes.  He definitely has a personality, and is very dramatic (just like mommy was).  He tries so hard to let us know what is going on in that brain of his, and we try oh so hard to understand.

He has started laughing, well only a few times for mommy.  He tries so hard to laugh, so I am sure that his giggles will start coming any day now.

He loves peek-a-boo, books, us singing to him, and silly faces/voices.  I think he could stare at our faces all day long.  He follows us whenever we leave the room and is quick to let us know he misses us when we aren't in sight.  After all, it's no fun to be alone!

He is SO aware of EVERYTHING around him.  He is engaged with his environment and learning so much each and every day.

Tummy time has never been his favorite, and now that he can roll from his tummy to his back, getting him to stay on his tummy is a challenge.  But when he does hangout on his tummy, we are so impressed by his strength.  He's got some strong arms and legs.  And speaking of legs, he can bear a ton of weight on his legs for long periods of time...in fact, he prefers standing when we hold him most of the time.

He has been sleeping SO much better! He still wakes up to eat once in the night, but is taking much longer naps during the day and is sleeping longer stretches at night.  He's learning, and we are thankful for that.

He truly is such a gift from the Lord, and we are so excited for all God has in store for His little life.  We pray he truly will be GREAT in God's kingdom and do great things for the glory of our Lord!

2 Months!

I can't believe Brayden is 2 months old today.  It seems like we were just bringing him home from the hospital yesterday...time sure does fly.  Although he is still little, he has grown SO much these past two months.  In fact, he has already doubled his birth weight!! He is a healthy boy :), we are so thankful.

He has started to smile so much and I love it. I can't get enough of those smiles. I can sense he is communicating with me, like he knows I am his Mommy and that makes him happy. Oh how I love him!  He saves some of his biggest smiles for his daddy which is just so precious to watch.

He also has become quite the talker, it is so funny.  If only I could read his mind.

I still can't get over how aware he is of everything (people and things).  That makes for tough nap times, but I am certain that he just doesn't want to miss a thing...I can't blame him, there is so much to see!

He still loves being held, and no matter where we are, he can always fall asleep in my arms.  That never gets old.

He got to go to church for the first time a few weeks ago and is doing such a great job!

His strength is incredible, I think he might be walking very early.  I have never seen a kid so young be able to put so much weight on his legs. And he moves like crazy, it is so hard to get a picture of him being still!

He laughs in his sleep which is one of the most precious things I have ever seen...we can't wait for him to laugh in response to tickles and silly faces and love!

He loves being read to.  We have started reading him Bible stories and he often smiles at the pictures.  So cute!

He still isn't sleeping through the night but he is getting so much better, and we are thankful.  I am truly trying to cherish those middle of the night feeds because before I know it, he won't want to be held and cuddled.

We just can't get enough of him.  We feel so blessed! And are so excited to continue watching him grow and develop.  Our prayer continues that he would be GREAT in the kingdom of our Lord!

A Family of 3!

It has officially been 6 weeks since we've went from a family of two, to a family of three.  Although time has flown, it feels like Brayden has been a part of our family forever.  We are so in love.

Brayden is growing like crazy! I was looking at pictures of him from when he was a couple weeks old and he looks like a completely different little man.  People always say that your kids grow fast, and it is so true.  We are trying to treasure every moment with him because we know they are so precious and fleeting.  I especially am learning to enjoy the little things in life, and to "stop and smell the roses" so to speak, thanks to this little guy.  We are so grateful for how the Lord is weaving him into our family and how gracious he has been to us thus far.

So what is Brayden up to at 6 weeks???

Brayden is a good eater, he has grown SO much and is nice and healthy.  He is becoming a better sleeper, and learning how to sleep by himself in his own bed not just at night, but during the day too.  As much as mommy would love to hold him all day long, I know this is what's best for him.  He is SO alert.  It is so fun to watch him look around at EVERYTHING and to see how inquisitive he is.  I can't get over his smiles, they are to die for.  We try to earn one each and every day, the fan seems to get the most though :).  He is starting to "talk" too which is so sweet, he tries so hard to talk to mommy and daddy everyday.  He loves when mommy and daddy sing to him, and recognizes our voices each time he hears them...even from a room away.  He is SO strong and can bear a lot of weight on his legs already...daddy loves his future athlete!  He loves hearing us talk or read to him whether it be the Bible, praying with him, or reading a book.  And he loves baths, as long as the water is nice and warm and constantly flowing on him.  He is just so precious!

We can't wait to continue to watch him grow and to see the Lord work in his life!
